El Captain, Yosemite
In 1958 a team of 9 men did the impossible, climbing this magnificent rock rightly named El Capitan located in Yosemite National Park, over a 47 day period. Then in 2008, 50 years later, Hans Florine and Yuji Hirayama broke all climbing speed records on the monolith climbing it in 2 hours 43 minutes and 33 seconds.
